I had a very interesting weekend. Let's begin with Saturday night....
I went with Deidre and Cori to one of Deidre's ex-coworker's husbands party. She was very nice and made me laugh when she told Deidre that when she looked at her pictures from Ireland that she thought I was some local they had met...because I had the red hair and all. I wish I was a local...but anyways...I found a cider beer that I love...Woodchuck Raspberry. YUMMY! I downed 2 before we left for our next adventure....which leads me to backstreets and downtown Dallas and wrong turns and Malcolm X boulevard and finally the good ol' Doublewide with the tornado on top. This place is so funny with it's velvet paintings (yes there was an Elvis one) and random other stuff. We hang out in the bar area until the stage area opened. DJ tells us Ashley is coming and, well, you all know how that went over with us. We were nice to her, but I can definitely tell you that I don't miss her one bit. At the end of the night she was kissing on some band boy to which I yell at her something about her fiance' probably not liking her doind that and the band boy going, "whoa a fiance' I can deal with a boyfriend, but not a fiance'." Really? ::rolls eyes:: Afterwards Deidre and I head to Waffle House. I should have known when we pulled up and had to park between 2 cop cars that it was going to be interesting. Good grief. The Papa Johns delivery girl was enough entertainment. I'm still laughing at her bantering with the poor blue eyed boy at the booth behind us. "I'm just trying to order some food and you're all up in my ear." "Honey I'm not yet, but I could be." Wowza. We quickly pay and head home. I get home by 5:15 AM!
Now it's Sunday and I've made plans to meet Jamie for lunch at Chilis in Hurst. I roll myself out of bed and get ready and head to Hurst....but not before I see the most bizarre wreck on 75. This tahoe was doing that cross 3 lanes of traffic (some 25 cars surrounding her) to get off at an exit and when she makes it to almost the 3rd lane (I'm guessing there was a car in her way as I was some 200 yards behind her) and then jerks back over and I think overcorrects and all of a sudden she does a 360 in the middle of the road goes head on in to the HOV lane concrete wall then does a 180 and rams into it backwards and ends up facing the wrong way in the HOV lane. I swear it looked like something out of nascar. Lots of good samaritans stop and once I went by her very slowly and saw her moving around inside I decide to just keep driving! So I make it to Hurst and after Jamie and I order our food the power goes out in Chilis and never comes back on even after we wait for 30 minutes. So we head about 5 miles up the road to another Chilis where they had power! I had fun visiting with Jamie and catching up. I head home. And decide that I'm just ready for Sunday to be over! But, right before I go to bed I decide to open my new bottle of Aleve that I picked up at Walmart on Saturday only to find that someone had resealed the box only after putting a half opened bottle of benedryl in there before returning it. I'm thinking, is today really happening or is this a joke? haha
Thankfully it's been a good week thus far. I'm excited that next week is spring break for dance. I could use a few afternoons to relax...and one of those I get to go see Blue October! woo-hoo!
Happy hump day everyone!
