I haven't written in a while, perhaps its because I really have nothing to write about. I'm sitting here going through my brain trying to find something, anything to write about it....wow I'm an extremely boring person. Let's see, what have I done since my birthday roadtrip.....

  • Micky and the Motorcars--some of my favorite people were there, the girls next to me were line dancing and kick lining to "Twilight", everyone around them was annoyed, including me. Nothing more rude than drunk girls that know all the words to the songs
  • I woke up the next morning sicker than a dog. And I'm still trying to get over the cough and the blowing of my nose
  • Last friday I saw "Twilight" with all the Dallas girls. I can appreciate it for what it was. I'm hoping the next movie is done better.
  • I just finished book 2 of the series. I cried within the first 100 pages. I was like, he's leaving her?!?!?! I was gonna hunt him down myself until I flipped to the last 100 pages of the book and cheated before I read on. I do that alot with books. I have to know the ending before I read how they got there. I've been that way all my life.
  • I ran into Chanda at Kohls in Plano. It was really random. But, Emma is so amazing adorable I wanted to just eat her up!
  • I can't wait for Thanksgiving dinner. I always name the 23 things I'm going to eat. And you can guarantee I will eat it all before the day is over. If there's one thing I can do, it's eat. Obviously.

Finally, to those of you who read this, I'm so thankful to have each and every one of you in my life! I'm even more thankful to call you my friends, actually my family. I love you all!

Are you putting that hat on to keep your head from swelling to the size of your ego?

So this weekend I went to Oklahoma to see the EYB with Jamie for my birthday. It was quite interesting. Let me just say that I previously twittered that I hate Oklahoma. Well I determined it's not Oklahoma I hate, it's the EYB superfans at both venues. I can find these same superfans in Texas too, so it's not entirely Oklahoma's fault. I will say though that these are the rudest people I have ever met and I don't plan on returning any time in the near future. I hope I don't offend anyone and please know that the quotes I added are paraphrased as I can't remember word for word what was exactly said.

With that said, here's some highlights from the weekend...bulleted of course:

  • Eating at Chili's in Norman with Jamie wearing a Texas A&M shirt
  • Detour exit and then going the wrong way on a one way street
  • walking through the "tunnel" while 89086587087 cars honk
  • followed by some boys yelling stupid things to each other
  • finding our way to the bar and double fisting it
  • finding our way to somewhere near the stage which ends up being on a step in front of the merch table
  • Mike talking to me from the stage telling me happy birthday and then dedicating "Mystery In The Making" to me
  • "whether you play the piano or flute" the flute? really?
  • needing to go to the bar again but decide not to because who knows if we'd ever make it there and back
  • talking to Mike outside after the show and watching his face when someone makes mention that the people in her office call them her boy toys. I'm serious.
  • I love hugging Mike because he hugs like he means it, which is how I hug people too
  • buying a gospel album from some guy promoting himself on the street. "I may not be Garth Brooks, but I'm from Oklahoma"
  • buying a hotdog from a vendor on a street corner
  • A visit to the OKC bombing site for a history lesson
  • Lunch at Cracker Barrell where we decided to buy a whole pecan chocolate chip pie for $8 as opposed to 2 slices for $3 each
  • the indian trading post signs that build up 20 miles to it's exit like it's some big store and it's really just some tiny shop on a hill
  • making it to Weatherford an hour before we can check in so we go to the venue to buy tickets and it's closed so we look up online the other places you can buy them and they are both gas stations
  • dr. pepper slurpies
  • a nap though the A&M/OU game
  • the manager at the restaurant calling someone sir and it really being a lady. In her defense the lady was rough looking
  • arriving at the venue and seeing F250s hauling horse trailers parked in the lot
  • seeing Phil and him asking where we are staying as he hoped it wasn't the hotel across the street where the bus driver was staying!
  • not enough redbull/vodka/grenadines to make it through the night
  • hearing George Strait, Rascal flatts, "Jose Curevo You Are A Friend Of Mine," No Justice then 10 rap songs before the EYB finally start
  • a girl with a black and white dress on, black and white cowboy boots, and black and white hair (not kidding) an advertisement for dressboothairmatch.com
  • seeing same restaurant manager at JC Cowboys doing the cupid shuffle on the dance floor
  • a tap on my shoulder and some girl telling me she NEEDS to get to the front of the stage. Me: no you don't
  • jagerbombs with the band
  • being pushed on stage during the last song. why do people push?
  • finding the boys hiding out on the bus after the show
  • watching CMT with the boys on the bus
  • the "bob that head" tour discussion
  • I learned that one CMT personality is a lesbian
  • "I didn't have any lighting on the stage" "no one did" "except for that giant spotlight shining on you, I felt like I was at the Mike Eli show" "well, when you're good, you're good"
  • "Are you putting that hat on to keep your head from growing to the size of your ego?" (this was quite possibly the funniest thing I heard all night)
  • James: "Julianne Hough can dance with my stars anyday" hahahaha
  • pecan chocolate chip pie at 2 am

It was quite an adventure. And it was fun. Sorry for the entertainment on twitter. It was easier to vent on there than at the actual person.

Congratulations to Kristin and Scott on the birth of their son Carter Michael. He was 2 hours from being born on the same birthday as me. Welcome to the world fellow scorpio!

It's beginning to look alot like....

November. The leaves are turning. My old neighborhood is looking homey. I love that feeling! And with November comes the anniversary of my birth :) yay! I read something that you are the only one who cares about your birthday after the age of like 11. Birthdays are a big deal to me. And I like to think I make a big deal out of my friend's birthdays too. So, just humor me.

The past few weeks have seem to fly by. If I'm not working, I'm teaching dance. If I'm not teaching dance, I'm working. It's an endless cycle. Somewhere in there I find time to sleep, on occasion. Maybe I need some of Kristin's ambien.

New Kids on the Block was probably the highlight of my life. Seems silly, but next to them the only person I'd ever kill to see is Elvis Presley (few know my obsession, now the internet is aware) and well, we know that will never happen. OK, so there's probably other people I would love to see, but I'm content right now.

It's become decision time at dance on what songs I will use for recital. I'm bored with the same old songs for the preschool classes. So I decided to branch out of the lyrics book and find a new song. I decided on the theme song to Fraggle Rock. After buying that dvd for Sara's baby, I thought, "I wonder if there's any songs from there that I could use?" And now I've decided a jazz routine to the theme will be the cutest thing ever...and something different.

I'm not sure what the sudden attraction is to Facebook, but I'm pretty sure that most of my HS classmates are now members and I'm constantly getting friend requests. It's like they all just discovered the internet. In my browsing, I discovered that I teach dance to one of my classmates twin girls. How weird is that? I guess I just never made the connection with the last name...of course I do well just learning their first names....last names are a whole other issue!

This weekend I'm going to Oklahoma with Jamie to see EYB for my birthday. This will be the first year Deidre doesn't make the trip with me because of work. Makes me sad, but we will celebrate another weekend. :) I haven't roadtripped in quite a while, so it should be fun just to get away!

It finally happened

I know you may all think I'm crazy....and I know V does....but something finally happened on Sunday night. I was telling V (and I know I've told others about this too) on Friday about how the actors in "Rent" the movie version (and also the original cast on Broadway) are in different tv shows. Well Tracie Thoms is on "Cold Case," which just happens to be one of my favorite shows, and on Sunday night...after many occasions just wishing one of the actors would belt out a song in their tv show....she sang! It was amazing. Now if I can just get Taye Diggs to sing on "Private Practice"......

My weekend started off great! I headed down with Tracey and Deidre to the AAC pre-party concert. We met up with Heather, Michelle, Jeromy, and V. V and I came to the conclusion that we hadn't seen each other since last Novemeber at a Reckless show...and this was my first Reckless show since then too. Where has the time gone? I was definitely missing these Braun boys in my life. I even text V and said...."I would have his babies, doesn't Willy know this?" And no, I wasn't drinking. haha After most of the EYB show we headed over to Adairs. All I really remember about Adairs is sharing way too much information about myself to V and claiming that I would have both Willy or Gary's red-headed children. Yes, it's still ok if you think I'm crazy. I'm almost 33 and well, I'm not seeing a husband anywhere in my near future, so a girl can dream every once in a while. I remember we left after 2 and I somehow didn't get home until 4 am. I only had 2 drinks and one jagerbomb....and a fabulous cheeseburger. I woke up Saturday sometime around 12:30 pm. I was hungry and Mom offered to go get Sonic. She got back with the food I took about 3 bites and then proceeded to run to the bathroom and start "praying to the porcelin god." I don't know why I just all the sudden felt really nauseated. About 2:30 I went back to bed and didn't get up until almost 7. I ate some soup and a grilled cheese sandwich then tried to watch "Dirty Dancing" on satellite and promptly went back to sleep until 11:30 the next morning! Can you believe that? I must have been tired...or had some 24 hour bug. I lounged around most of the day. And then it was Monday.
