Happy Birthday to one of my favorite people!

Jamie...I hope you're feeling better on this 22nd anniversary of the day you were born.

Also, congratulations to "other" Sara on her marriage to Clint. Can't wait to see more pictures, but from what I have seen, you looked absolutely beautiful my friend!

It's been a few weeks since I've written. Nothing has really been going on in my tiny little world worth mentioning. Weekend before last at the EYB show in Lewisville I almost got in a fight with a girl who wouldn't get on the bus because she was trying to let 4563563362 other people get on ahead of her...on purpose. After calling her a not very nice name (rhymes with bucking witch), she told her friend that if I had said one more thing to her she was going to punch me. OBVIOUSLY she didn't know who she was talking about. haha

Last weekend I didn't do much. Just a little shopping and petsitting and lounging. I actually enjoy doing that every once in a while.

This coming Friday I think I'll be making an appearance in Dallas....the AAC concert deal with McClure, Willy Braun, and EYB. What a fabulous lineup. And afterwards Adairs. I mean a girl can't make a trip to Dallas without hitting up Adairs, right?

Everyone have a great week!!

EYB cd release party

As we exit 35 I look to my right and loudly say, "Oh My GOD." Deidre said, "What? Don't say that!" What I saw was a line that extended from the front door of Rockin' Rodeo to the end of the shopping center right in front of the Dollar General. I just couldn't believe it! So we find a parking spot and walk up and get in line. A line that apparently isn't moving really fast. As we move up in line we start smelling this horrible stinch of what I believed was a sewer leak. Looking back I sorta wish it had been the sewer because we go around this pole and there on the ground is a dead pigeon. WOW. So ok, well we just won't look at it as we're standing right by it. I get a text from a number I don't recognize asking if we're there yet. I replying asking who it is. I'll reveal that in a moment. First let me comment on what we saw standing in line: daisy duke shorts with boots, skirts with boots, lots of skin, lots of barely 18 year olds, and my favorite..the beer girl with a barely there shirt with her boobs flying everywhere as she ran across the parking lot to the building to go to work. That gets another WOW.

Ok so we finally get inside. Of course everyone is already standing up by the stage so we go stand at stage right by the door where the band comes in from wherever it is they are. So we're standing there and in walks the EYB around 9 pm to do an autograph session. Now they are escorted in with all kinds of "security" people and paraded through the room to the back to autograph and take pictures. Excuse me if I'm rolling my eyes as I write this. I guess they're there for about an hour. We never left our spot. I mean how many pics and autographs do you need anyway? They are then paraded around the rest of the place across the roped part in front of the stage where they're waving to the people as they pass. Chris stops next to me and says hi to the people then proceeds on. Mike's the last one and he just walks by us and I look at Deidre and I'm like, "ok well hi" sorta laughingly. Mike turns around and comes over and hugs me then sees the mystery texter behind me and hugs her too. To which she says, "he doesn't even remember me." I promise you he remembers you! Ok so they go back out the side door. We then have to wait until the entire Cowboys game is over before they will even take the stage. As we're waiting we're hearing all kinds of music AND watching Denton police show up to guard the stage and door. I mean, really? How crazy are these people in denton that the boys think they need that kid of security. It made me laugh. They finally hit stage I guess around 11. They seemed in really good spirits. Mike sounded better than I've heard him sound in a really long time. I guess that happens when you aren't consuming stupid juice on stage. The crowd is cheering, yada, yada. The gf gets heated about how the crowd doesn't know the songs and how we should push our way to the middle so they can see us. Deidre and I are thinking, "no thanks." haha And she walks away and we leave. haha Yes, we left before it was over. But we saw lots of old EYB fans in the audience. It was a nice reunion. It's a little sad to know that it won't ever be how it used to, but I suppose that's why we were all supporting them so it would be this way eventually. The cd, while on the mellow side, is so completely awesome. The songwriting is definitely better. You can tell they've all grown...musically and emotionally. I'm really proud of them and what they've accomplished. I can't say I don't miss them because I do, but that's just the way it is.

Ok, so it's been at least what seems like 2 years since I've seen her, but here I am with the mystery texter (yes she's still alive!) and our most recent nursing school graduate:

It was good to see you Allene (yes that's what I call her!) and Nikki! I hope it's not so long between times before I see you the next time.

If you haven't already, get the new EYB cd. You won't regret it. I have a tie between 2 favorite songs on there: "Guinevere" and "Throw and Go"

At least my week has gotten better since Tuesday! I'm certainly thankful for that! Everyone have a great weekend! I'm off to the Ft. Worth Zoo on Saturday. I'm looking forward to it! And Tracey if you bring home Joey Joe. Call me.

My day from hell

So yesterday I got up feeling pretty good considering I was out kinda late the night before in a REALLY smoky bar seeing my favorite band at their cd release party. (that post to come this week, I just have to upload 1 picture, because believe me there was plenty to write about!) Anyway, I got ready and even had time to run by McDonalds and I was still at work early. So I decide to check the standards....e-mail, myspace, facebook.....then I check galley and it went all downhill from there....

I open my PM box to find this as a title of a message someone had sent me: bitch
Followed by this message:
thanks for being a major help fat ass.. was a simple question if anybody had the lyrics but you can be a dick and not put them on there.. you're a real winner!!!!!

At first I was like, wtf? because honestly I had no idea why this was being written to me. So immediately I forward it to Jamie and was like is this guy serious? I think about it now and it's actually funny to me. Not funny to me that he calls me names that are completely inappropriate and totally unwarranted but because he feels so heated about having to wait 2 whole days until I submit the lyrics to the new EYB album. After I picked my jaw up off the floor and gathered my thoughts I replied with this:
Wow, I can certainly tell by your nasty PM that you're a real classy individual. If you think name-calling is going to get you somewhere in life, you have a lot to learn.
I certainly am not going to make considerations just for you by posting the lyrics early. You can wait just like everyone else to get the full lyrics to the album by either purchasing it or waiting 2 days until I've typed them all up and submitted them. We've all waited 3 1/2 years to get the lyrics you can wait a little longer.
There's a thing called courtesy around here and you obviously missed the day your momma taught you that. Get over yourself and move on with your life. Song lyrics aren't worth being a jerk about.
Do not write me again.

Jamie, Deidre, and Lori tell me I should report him and have him banned. Deidre wanted to know who it was so she could bash his face in. I love it when my friends have my back! If the idiot writes me again I will just send a message to some admin and get them to hopefully take care of it because I refuse to continue to be harrassed by someone who's probably been a fan for like 1 minute. Or, it's someone that I know. I have my suspicions. But, if I ever do find out who it is, they will have a reason to call me a bitch by the time I'm done with them. So Jimnasth, whoever you are, watch your back because Deidre will bash your face in!

So I thought after that it can't get much worse, right? At 2 pm I go to the allergist who walks into the room and says, "So you're here for your 6 month sinus infection, huh?" To which I go, "You're kidding, right?" Nope. So 14 days worth of antibiotics and 6 days of steroids. I actually feel better today. I don't have a sinus headache. My nose isn't stuffy. So yay! At 4 pm I start teaching dance. My first class is basic baton and for the last 2 weeks there has been a new student. Well a girl who's been in class from the start goes very rudely, "Is there gonna be a new student next week too because this is getting boring." I look at her, again after I pick my jaw up off the floor, and say, "Regardless if there is or not, your comment was not very nice and I just hope that you remember 5 weeks ago you were a new student and have had 5 weeks to know this stuff and she has to learn it all in the 30 minutes we have for class today." She got over it real quick. Then my assistant in my 4-5 year old class right in the middle of class is standing behind all of the kids doing her tap routine full out. I looked at her and I go, "Could you please stop that? It's hard enough to get them to stay on their number in criss cross applesauce but when they see you doing that they think it's ok to act up." She just glared at me and then for the rest of the time (she assists my next class too) she ignored me and did almost nothing. So in my tap class apparently some Mom went into the office and said I never say anything to the students the whole 45 minutes we're in there and that I never corrected them. So the office manager came to watch with her. She told me she watched me instruct the kids in whatever step we were doing and corrected them if they needed it and I was counting and doing whatever a dance teacher needed to do. She told the lady what she was observing as she was standing there with her and the lady was just like she doesn't talk to them. So now I have no idea what to do. Am I suppose to be their best friend? When they come into class I always ask all of them how their week was and how school is going, etc. This isn't social hour. It's 45 minutes of learning stuff so you can go on to the next level next year. I've never been criticized on my teaching. She told me not to worry about it. Apparently it was a full moon and the crazies were all out. But after my entire day I took it personally. Which, I probably would have taken it personally any other day as well. So, I just picked up my purse and keys and said I'm leaving (my day was over anyway) because the sooner I get out of here the sooner I can go to bed and this day will be over.
Thank goodness there will never be a September 16, 2008 again!
