Deidre wanted me to tell the story of Johnny Cooper's Mom at the Hat Tricks show I went to a weekend ago. I was there enjoying the show and Johnny's Mom was walking around in her same eccentric glasses and crazy curly hair with her pixie dust shaker out (really it was glitter)....shaking it all over everyone. "Here I have some pixie dust for you." I think I don't really get the reason for pixie dust, but his Mom is crazy and fun, so I just sorta laughed it off. And you know how hard it is to get glitter off of you and your hair.......ugh.
So this weekend I went to an engagement party for Scott and Kristin. It was a wine tasting party beforehand. I have never been a fan of wine, but it was fun getting to taste different things and I even found one that I liked! And I also found out that I'm not really a red wine fan. But that's ok. I think I had about the reddest cheeks ever after the wine tasting. Those of you who have been around me when I drink know how my cheeks get, so just imagine how unbelieveably red they were. Goodness! I, unfortunately, don't really know Kristin that well, but what I read from her on her blogs, etc. makes me really like her. And I chose a long time ago to forget about the first night we met, so I hope she has too because I don't want to be labeled as the girl who thought......she knows what I'm talking about ;) Scott seems really happy and I'm happy that he's found someone that makes him that happy.
Anyway, wine makes me have red cheeks. haha After the wine tasting and a few minutes of mingling Deidre and I headed to Gilley's to meet up with Tracey to see No Justice. I freakin' love No Justice. And I heart Steve Rice. And we have a new favorite...Armando. He thinks Tracey is a cool kid. I'm a cool kid too. I don't know if it's by association or not, but hey, that's ok! We 3 had a good time.
The boys we always see at EYB shows were there, so we decided to have fun with them. But, if they had said one more time, "Hey Steve drink your beer" I may have used Deidre's gun to shoot them. (jk she didn't have it with her!) There was also this random boy that kept staring at me then finally leaned over and said, "Hey were you here for Reckless Kelly?" My first thought was, oh good grief did I make a fool of myself that night? THEN I remembered that was the night we didn't drink because of our night with Mike McClure the previous evening, so I was certain that I was not as crazy as Chanda. So I said, "yes, why?" He goes, "oh I was here and I was standing by you." Lord, I don't remember him even beeing there. I do remember Amazon standing at the front of the stage in front of all of us. So I just stared at him. Later, I remembered something and I said to him, "I know you were at McClure at Hank's a month back because I stood right next to you." (note: I did make a fool of myself that night, but its ok) So all of a sudden I guess he's our new best friend because he keeps trying to talk to us and takes pics of us with Deidre's camera, etc. So at the end of the night, Deidre goes, "are you single?" He says, "Yes." She says, "Let me give you a little advice, if you ever want to have a date, go home and burn that shirt. I don't ever want to see you wear that shirt again." I have never laughed so hard in my entire life. This boy had his hair slicked back like Stephen Baldwin. (that's what we kept calling him) He's in serious need of a make over. I think Deidre's just the person to take on the job.....
Thursday I'm off to see Bob Dylan with Deidre and Lori. Should be interesting. I'll let you girls know how it goes.....

Well, if Deidre can be excited....
I get to go see "Love, Janis" the musical next Saturday! And I've been excited about that since I bought the tickets for my Mom for Christmas :)

Joel says Hi!
So, this weekend I didn't do a whole lot until Saturday evening. On Saturday I went and saw my friend, Emily, and her fiance', Bobby, in their play, Neil Simon's "Proposals" at the Lewisville Community Theater. While I was on my way I get a text from Nicole (Ryan Turner's friend) asking if I was going to see Johnny Cooper at Hat Tricks. Mom and I had already discussed it (as she went to the play with me) and had decided since we would only be 5 minutes from there that we'd pack a change of clothes and go. So after the play we headed to Hat Tricks and met up with Nicole. It was packed. Not as bad as Hanks, but it was packed. Mom was excited to see him live and she had a great time, as did I. I swear that kid gets better and better everytime I see him. Even my Mom was like, "I can't believe he's only 20!" Our favorite Joel was working that night and he wanted me to tell everyone hi. So, everyone Joel says "hi!"
Yesterday I didn't do much but I did manage to finally get "Knocked Up" watched. It was ok. I was glad I didn't spend the money to see it in the theater! Last night I was flipping during Extreme Makeover Home edition commercial breaks to catch some of the Grammys. I'm sorry to all of those Amy Whinehouse fans, but ugh. She's a trainwreck. And I didn't really think she was all that everyone seems to think she is. Now, Beyonce, who I've never really been head over heels about, she freakin' rocked....and Tina Turner...does that woman age at all? I thought Fergie's song with John Legend was good. She was way better than that last awards show I heard her on. And though I don't agree with most of the crap that comes from Kanye's mouth when he's not singing, I thought his performance was very good as well. It was touching to see him sing the song, "Mama." Was it extreme to shave that into his head, maybe, but it's his hair, so who cares. That's about all I saw last night....except I did see where "Once" was up for best soundtrack and, eventhough it didn't win, I was happy to see it nominated :)
Ok, that's about it. Peace out.
