1. If you can't walk down the street without having to use one hand to hold up your pants, they are probably too big.
2. If you have a belt on and you are walking down the street still holding your pants up, again, they are too big.
3. Why is it that when the city is cutting back trees from the lines, they always make the trees look stupid? Seriously, some of the trees on greenville avenue here in Allen are atrocious. I feel sorry for them.
4. I'm not a smoker, but if you buy a car and you have the window rolled all the way down and your hand up over the top of your car so the smell of the smoke won't be in your car, then why bother smoking in it? You are polluting my air, and it doesn't need any more help from you to be bad for me.
5. I had to call the credit card company today because I have misplaced my card somewhere in my house. You see when I went to Ireland I took out all the stuff from my wallet I didn't want to use and now I can't remember where I put them. So I called to get a replacement card. The guy asked me if I wanted a replacement card or to shut down the old one and open a new one. I plainly said I wanted a replacement card only for him to ask me the same question again. I asked him what was so hard to understand that I wanted a replacement card that I wasn't worried the card was stolen I just lost it somewhere in my house. I promise my cats aren't going to be committing fraud against me! I was only calling because I want to set up online billing and I need the 3 digit code on the back.

Confessions of your favorite red head
I recently confiscated an '80s-'90s Hip Hop Album from someone and here's some confessions about it:
- "Funky Cold Medina"---"It's the 80s and I'm down with the ladies" is the funniest line I've reheard in a long time.
- "U Can't Touch This"---This came on in the car and Deidre and I simultaneously did the typewriter. Stop. Hammer Time.
- "Ice Ice Baby"---Yo VIP let's kick it. I still know every word to this song. I remember meeting Vanilla Ice. I even have my picture made with him. I had really bad hair, but his was worse. Word to your mother.
- "1,2,3,4"---"Get your woman on the floor" what ever happened to Coolio? I guess he got up and then got down.
- "Whoop, there it is"--the theme song for the class of '93. We "rapped" this out into the seats to attend the ceremony. And I still wonder, why?
And I secretly love Britney Spears' "Piece of Me." I mean anyone who uses the word derriere in a song has my attention people! haha Speaking of derriere, it's also in "Whoop, there it is." Who knew!?!?!
On Sunday I watched CMT for most of the afternoon because I was trying to catch the new show "Can You Duet?" The reason I was trying to catch it is because on Saturday night I met one of the contestants. He came to hang out with Michelle, and well Deidre and I were hanging out with her first, so he just kinda was included in our hanging out. haha Super cute guy, kinda reminds me of a cuter Jonas Brother (as in the way he was dressed). Not that I like the Jonas Brothers, but I've seen them and the dancers love them (think NKOTB for our age). Anyway, Jeremiah is actually pretty good and Sara he has a song called "Sara" on his myspace page. You should check it out! Actually you should ALL check him out, on Fridays on CMT. Apparently he'll be on all the rest of the episodes...even up to the finale show. However, he can't tell us who won. BUT, he's only back here for a month before he's moving to Nashville. ;) Anyway, after we left the Barley House we all went to eat at Cafe Brazil. Probably the BEST chocolate chip and banana pancakes I have ever had! And the people watching is even better! But, Dawn didn't get home until almost 4 am. I'm too old for that, right?
Ok, so back to watching CMT on Sunday....I watched the CMT video awards. Good Lord what a beat down. If Taylor Swift disappeared from the earth I'm here to say that I would not freakin' miss her. This girl is a terrible live performer. She has to be totally in studio produced, because from what I've seen, she sucks live. Sorry, I said it. There you go. The one thing I loved was Leann Rimes. I was entertained. And that girl can sing. And if I was given an opportunity to roll around in bed with Jon Bon Jovi while making a video, don't think I wouldn't do it ladies! Sign me up for that. Other than that, I was completely bored with it. And, even worse "Can You Duet" came on at 8:30 right smack in the middle of one of my other shows, so I never got to see him in it because of all my flipping back and forth. But I did see some of the other "hopefuls." I guess people can't hear themselves when they sing. Or their friends and loved ones have lied to them. Oh well, I guess I'll just start with this coming Friday's episode.

Temporarily Insane
I actually agreed to babysit 5 kids one weekend while the parents are out of town. Yes, you read that right...5 KIDS! These people that I used to babysit for when I was in college...at the time they only had 1 child and before they moved there was another one born...so Iused to babysit 2 of them. Well, they've moved back...the oldest is now 15! Where did the time go? She was like 4 when I last saw her! Good grief! Anyway, the Mom told me that the 2 oldest are used to babysitting the other 3, but not overnight, plus the oldest isn't old enough to drive so she would never think of leaving them by themselves over a weekend. Enter me, the old trustworthy babysitter from back in the day. My thought is that it will be really good money and I only have to try it once to know if I'd ever be willing to do it again. haha I haven't babysat in YEARS, so it should be interesting!

Blast from the past
Yesterday morning I was listening to the news while I was getting ready and heard this story about a math teacher in Frisco who apparently took a 17 year old to get a tattoo at someone's house. This teacher is on administrative leave while the case is being investigated. I tell you all this because when I heard the name of the teacher my eyes popped out of my head and my mouth fell to the floor as she was one of my really good friends in junior high. Knowing her like I did then, I mean this is the girl I saw "The Little Mermaid" with in the theater, I was shocked that she could possibly do something like this. Maybe it's denial, but I keep hoping that they find her innocent....perhaps it's because I still want to cling to the time when we were innocent teenagers just trying to fit in at a school with too many cliques. The funny part I read in the online article is the parents made the boy sell his car to pay for the surgery to have it removed. So here's where I ask....do they not think that within the next year when this boy turns 18 that he won't go out and get another one? I don't condone what my one time friend is being accused of, but I don't see this boy not getting a tattoo when he turns 18. Call it a hunch if you will.
Anyway, the end of last week/weekend was a lot of fun. I got to see people that I haven't seen in a really long time. Of course there were the usual suspects too, but I had a lot of fun with everyone and I just wanted them to know. But my favorite Sara....it can't be 6 months until I see you next. I was sad when you said that! Thank you for wanting to get together on Thursday, it was fun! Friday was interesting. The EYB HOB show was packed with lots of youngins...but don't think that we didn't have our own fun! haha, I had a blast with everyone that was there. It was truly a memorable night.....I'll get to the 4:15 am phone call in a minute. Saturday I went to Tracey's birthday party. I've never been to the Glass Cactus, but man is it HUGE! And the jumbo screen on the outside was over the top! I thought the atmosphere inside was fun maybe because it wasn't our usual scene, but it was interesting none-the-less. I was home by midnight as I was so tired. It was good to see Heather, Megan, and Amber. I don't get to see them very often, so it was a nice treat! And Sunday I just vegged at home all day.
Ok so, Saturday at 4:15 am my phone started ringing and it woke me up from a dead sleep. Half asleep I answered it, eventhough it was a number I didn't know. The conversation went something like this: (names have been changed to protect the guilty)
me: hello (in a whisper)
girl: Dawn?
me: yes
girl: this is "Kathryn," you don't know me, but I'm a friend of "Lisa's" and we brought "Stephanie" to the HOB tonight
me: yeah
girl: well we're really worried about "Stephanie," there's something wrong with her (now at this point I'm not listening anymore because , well I don't really care, and I'm half asleep so it continues to sound like) blah, blah, blah blah, blah, etc.
me: ok
girl: so I was wondering if you had Mike's phone number and if I could get it from you because he's the only one who can do anything about it.
me: Mike Eli?
girl: yes
(now here's where I make a judgement to lie, lie, lie)
me: I'm sorry but I don't have Mike's number. He's really choosey as to who he gives his new number to, and well i just don't have it.
her: oh. well. ok. bye.
I'm sorry, don't freakin' call me at 4 am with some lame story that I can't even follow all to just get Mike Eli's phone number. The reason we have the number is because he trusts us not to give it out! Well, Jamie found out why the girl was calling. Apparently "Stephanie" got herself into the Mike Eli birthday party after the show and left her friends who had to drive around downtown Dallas for 2 hours waiting for her. When "Stephanie" calls them and they pick her up after she's been thrown out of the party, she claims that she was given a drug and she's going to call the cops, etc etc. So they apparently wanted Mike's number so he could clear up any misunderstanding. I'm telling you right now there's no way that he was going to answer that phone when they called. So word on the street is "Stephanie" has been banned from all EYB shows. Where do these crazy people come from? I feel sorry for the 2 girls who had to put up with her. Sometimes we get ourselves into situations that leave us wondering, why does this crap always happen to me? The only question that remains is: how did these girls even get MYnumber? haha

It's taken me 2 days to write this.....
So this weekend I went to visit Jamie in CS. We went to Huntsville for the Crawfish Festival to see Wade Bowen and EYB. I had a great time...but not without a few mishaps of course. I will say that my red bull and vodka was only $3 and even cheaper the 2nd time...and Jamie's drink was only $1.25. Unheard of here in Dallas. I'm just saying. Anyway, between sets this girl from a radio station I believe came out onstage and was throwing t-shirts out into the crowd. Freakin' ugly t-shirts that said "Live at the Jolly Fox." I think Gage is trying to get rid of them or something. Anyway, one is thrown over my head, but somehow lands right by my feet. So I bend over to pick it up when this stupid 18 year old girl shoves me down and grabs the shirt and shrieks with excitement at getting it. So after I pick myself up off the ground and feel this throbbing pain in my knee because its rammed into a metal rod on the gorund that's holding up the stage, I turn around and go, it's just a Fu*king t-shirt there was no need to shove me. To which she replies, "Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to." She didn't mean to? If you raised your arms in the intent to contact my body with them, then you meant to. I was mad, but I was nice. Small town people don't get out much. Though any other time I would have punched her. haha
Anyway, fast forward to the end of the EYB set where Wade comes out on stage to sing "Come Together" with them. Mike decides he's gonna take my camera and take pictures from the stage. Well, instead Wade takes it from him and takes some really great pics! So after the show, we wait around for a little while and Phil finally gets us backstage where we run into Wade Bowen. Ok, so I've never met him and I'm here to say that he is the nicest guy I've ever met. He is my new favorite! I don't know why it's taken me so long to know that. After our goodbyes to Mike we head back to College Station. It was a fun night....BUT my knee has a bruise on it. Stupid free t-shirts and 18 year olds.
So Mom and I have been discussing a vacation this summer and I finally got her convinced that New York City is THE place we should go. haha Today I booked the flights and the hotel for June 21-27. I'm so excited. I even got center orchestra, 2nd row, 1st 2 seats for the musical "Mary Poppins." AND not to mention that Sunday, June 22nd we'll be at Yankee Stadium watching the Yanks take on Cincinnati! Woo-freakin-hoo! I'm looking so forward to this trip. This will be the longest I've ever been in NYC! My friend, Maritza, that I've known since Junior High just moved there last July and she's excited about us coming. She's going to the game with us :)
Ok, well that's all I got. The rest of the week/weekend will be a marathon of things to do....Seeing Sara on Thursday, EYB at HOB Friday, Tracey's b-day party on Saturday, and somewhere in there I've got to finish a clog routine and a baton routine for next week. Sunday's looking good for that!
Everyone have a great rest of the week!
